I failed my first accounting class.
It was my first time failing anything.
It was strangely liberating.
It was a course in a huge ampheatre, early in the morning, IN FRENCH.
And frankly, I thought accounting was soooo boring.
And yet, Capricorn in my 2nd house would have it that my first job was working for Ernst&Young as a financial auditor for massive companies like LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet-Hennesy).
I took the job because I wanted to stay in Paris and they offered to take care of my work visa.
The reason I mention this is simply because I am not a native accountant.
I am a creative, English lit major. I speak four languages. I'm uncannily good at pottery and tile work. I have a knack for interior design.
So, auditing was...foreign.
And, it taught me how to read, organize and present numbers.
